In textile sector, most of the manufacturers use traditional methods for quality control. These methods depend on inspection of defects by human eye during or after production process. Human eye tends to err especially when looking at same or similar objects and the error rate increases when the duration of the operation gets longer. Besides, human eye cannot detect the size of defects as precious as a software, thus the quality level of the fabric roll is frequently determined faulty, which increases return rates and thus profitability. Most of the web inspection software developed as a solution to this problem are expensive and they are dependent on a camera manufacturer and this dependency increases maintenance costs in most cases. Our textile web inspection software eliminates all of these problems since it is developed based on an existing image processing framework (Capra Image Processing Platform) which is cross-camera and cross-platform.
As in our all products and solutions, our textile web inspection software runs on DELL workstations and our embedded hardware platform and it is also tested and verified on other processor architectures and hardware configurations that may be preferred for this application. In addition, our R&D studies on a web inspection framework which will be used in different sectors including leather and paper which have similar production and quality control processes.
