RadiPACS

RadiPACS is a software, developed for PACS server, enables DICOM images to be stored and processed in a fast and lossless way. By RadiPACS’ web viewer service, radiologists and doctors can easily connect to RadiPACS via Internet and view patient images from everywhere. Through the RadiPACS’ excellent database, patient data can be stored for years and a DICOM image can be retrieved whenever it’s needed, even after long years. RadiPACS can also be connected from different cities (Ex: Even the patient has moved to another city, a doctor or a radiologist can remotely access to that patient’s images.)

Importance of RadiPACS In PACS Architecture

RadiPACS, the advanced DICOM server software, with its extendible – flexible structure and is easy to use, meets all kinds of image store and communication needs.

RadiPACS server, which is developed according to DICOM 3.0 standards, has a perfect harmony with Callisto.

Previously processed DICOM images are stored in RadiPACS Local Storage and can be reviewed or edited later.

Benefits of Patients

  • Since all patient images are stored on RadiPACS server, more realistic medical evaluation becomes possible by comparing recent images to previous ones.
  • Patients do not need to carry their films with them when they go to doctor.
  • Films have the possibility to be deformed because of environmental factors, but digital films can be kept as they are in day one.
  • Images can be transferred to various local or international medical points when needed.

Benefits of Hospitals

  • In environments RadiPACS is used, film and film-related costs (bath, solution, envelope etc.) reduce, meaning RadiPACS helps substantial saving.
  • Eases film archiving; since all images are stored on RadiPACS, no more insufficient archive memory or film indexing problems occur.
  • Especially since forensic cases are obliged to be kept for years, accessing to these cases and transferring them to requesting units last only for seconds.
  • Shortens the process for doctors and patients by enabling them to wait less.
  • Doctor evaluations get more realistic since doctors are able to view images of better quality through network.
  • Especially in case of emergency, doctors can access to patient films even from their home and be able to make necessary medical plans before they reach to hospital.
  • Especially at hospitals with several additional buildings, films taken at one building can be viewed by doctors at another building and diagnosis process becomes independent from the location.
  • Since chemical materials needed for film and film process are not used, PACS System is an environment-friendly system.
