RFID in Animal Identification

RFID technology is used for tracking millions of livestock animals throughout the world. RFID is used in identifying, counting and tracking meat and dairy animals, valuable domestic animals and laboratory animals used in long lasting and expensive experiments.

With RFID tags in the form of ear tags, full automation can be achieved in farms in processes such as feeding, weighing, disease management and breeding. Data about tagged animals are stored in databases which can be accessed only by authorized users.
