What is RFID?

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is the technology which enables us to identify products, animals and, although used very limitedly in a few fields today, humans using a tag and a reader with radio frequencies. A tag is the device which is integrated in the object to be identified. The chip on the tag can store data up to 2000 bytes. A reader is the device which sends radio waves around with the antenna on it. When the radio waves sent by the reader arrive at the tag, data on the tag are sent to the reader. RFID systems which are composed of a tag and a reader are used in a broad field. They are used safely in numerous fields such as libraries, security facilities, document management, product tracking and parks.
