PTZ Tracking

In PTZ tracking, we use PTZ cameras’ ability to move horizontally (pan), vertically (tilt) and zoom. These cameras can rotate 360° vertically and horizontally and most of new generation cameras have high zooming performance. When these abilities of these cameras are supported with effective tracking software, they will become indispensable components of military and civil security applications. Our PTZ tracking software a Capra-based solution and it has real time performance, which is a must in tracking applications especially in military security.

Image and Sensor Fusion

Image and sensor fusion is merging data obtained from multiple sensors. While it has a limited usage field in manufacturing, it is more commonly used in military applications. We used Capra Image Processing Platform in development of our image and sensor fusion filters.


Image and sensor fusion is not a new technology but there is a big innovation opportunity in this filed with recent developments in sensor technologies and hardware architectures. Military applications are effected by different geographical and weather conditions such as sound, light, motion and temperature. Real time fusion of data from different sensors (PIR, thermal, electro-optic etc.) is a difficult task.

Capra is the first image processing framework which is able to fuse and process images from multiple and different types of sensors in military applications with its parallel and multi-core programming architecture.

Video Stabilization

In military applications, analyzing fixed image frames does not meet needs. In these applications, images of the field are acquired via cameras and real time image processing and video analysis techniques are used to obtain the desired outputs such as motion detection, target detection and object tracking. In order to analyze the images acquired from cameras on moving platforms, the images should first be stabilized. We use Capra Image Processing Platform also for video stabilization in military applications. We can complete video stabilization during preprocessing with Capra’s parallel and multi-core programming architecture and we reach real time processing performance with stabilized image.

Fog Elimination

Fog is among the factors which reduces clarity of images and thus makes analysis of the images difficult. Fog elimination filters added to reprocessing module of Capra Image Processing Platform eliminates fog from the image and increases visibility range by 30-40%.


Snow Elimination

Snow is among the natural factors which reduce clarity of images besides causing false alarms in motion detection applications. Capra Image Processing Platform solves this problem effectively with its snow elimination filters.

Long Range Motion Detection

Homeland security applications should have the ability to detect a threat in advance and generate alarm in order to allow the user time to take necessary measures. Long range detection of moving objects which can be threat is among the success criterion of military image processing applications. While the lack of this ability can be overcome with long range motion detection with image processing and video analysis techniques, it is one of the hardest tasks in this field. Geographical conditions increase false alarm rate and makes it difficult to detect slow motions.

We achieved to solve this problem effectively with our video analysis and image processing frameworks which can acquire images from up to 3 km distance. Our long range motion detection infrastructure is trained for natural and expected motions and thus false alarms are minimized.

Target Detection

Target detection is one of the most essential solutions needed in military applications. Object detection/classifications algorithms used in target detection applications requires high-level expertise in image processing and video analysis. Besides object detection, classification of detected objects (vehicle, human, animal etc.) is also important for target detection.

Developing object detection and classification software which will operate precisely in harsh weather, physical and geographical conditions is a very hard task. Matching different appearances of the same object with respect to its position, direction, interaction with other objects and illumination makes it difficult to detect and classify an object as a target. Multiple object detection effects performance of real time operations to a large extent. Real time multiple object detection is possible with our experience and technical background. We proved our expertise in this field with Capra Image Processing Platform, i-bex Video Analysis Platform and RoboGuard projects.

Object Tracking

In military applications, once an object is detected it should be tracked if it moves. Object tracking is an easy task when the shape, direction and speed of the moving object are constant. However this is rarely the case in military applications; the shape, direction and speed is not constant in many cases. Thus the next position of the object should be calculated accurately in an effective tracking application. Weather conditions and dynamic background in the field also makes tracking even more difficult.


As in all applications which require preprocessing, we use necessary elimination filters (fog, noise and snow elimination and video stabilization) in object tracking in order to obtain an easily analyzable image. We strengthen our object tracking solution with image and sensor fusion. Effective and accurate tracking algorithms are generally slower than they should be and we eliminated this problem with our parallel and multi-core programming adaptation besides the pipeline architecture. These technical advantages enabled us to develop a real time object tracking infrastructure.


Naval, aerial and territorial object tracking require different abilities and different hardware. Our competency in CPU, GPU and FPGA programming allows us to develop software on different hardware platforms with different performances. This ability enables us to develop optimum solutions in a very short time.
